AFD Guide

There are two AFD options that come inside the box. The Freetour comes with the Gripwalk/Alpine AFDs installed on the binding.  The Touring AFDs are packaged separately inside your binding box. Each AFD works with boots that have the corresponding ISO sole. You can verify these numbers by looking at the bottom of the AFD, location indicated in red in the photo below.

Gripwalk/Alpine AFDs - Are sized to accommodate ISO 23223 Gripwalk and ISO 5355 Alpine boot soles.

Touring AFDs - Are sized to accommodate most ISO 9523 touring boot soles.

All bindings must be properly adjusted and tested with the boots being used to ensure proper function prior to use.

AFD Change Procedure

To remove the AFD, use a 2.5mm allen wrench to unscrew the 2 screws from the pedestal.  Slide the AFD back off the pedestal. Slide the new AFD on. There are slots on the side of the pedestal that the AFD will slide onto. Re-fasten the AFD with the two allen screws.
