Features

Tech Freedom

Our super light tech toe reduces touring weight to a minimum while maximizing efficiency. Replacing the Freetour Pivot alpine toe with the tech toe reduces the overall weight to just 1000 grams per ski.

Alpine Performance

The Freetour Kit maintains all of the reliability and performance of the most trusted alpine binding in skiing. Full alpine release and retention characteristics provide unmatched safety and durability

Look Pivot Superiority

It is hard to understate the performance benefits of the Look Pivot binding. With significant elastic travel, the fastest recentering, a short mounting zone, and multidirectional release, the Pivot creates the best ski feel of any binding.

Single Alpine/GripWalk Compatible AFD

Our standard AFD is compatible with both Alpine ISO 5355 and GripWalk ISO 23223 norms. We include a separate, interchangeable Touring ISO 9523 AFD for use with fully rockered soles.

Heel Assembly

The Freetour’s compact heel assembly mounts in two holes positioned in front of the heel piece. It includes a brake lock and two climbing bails at flat, 8 degree, or 12 degree climbing modes.

Ski Crampon Compatible

The crampon clip is compatible with all Dynafit style ski crampons, these are available in all ski widths on our accessories page.

Turntable Heel

The Pivot's turntable heel allows for rotational release around the tibial axis. This significantly reduces the chance of lower leg injuries, something most tech bindings fail to achieve.

FAQs

Yes. The changes Look made to the Pivot do not affect it's performance with the Freetour.

NO. The toe interchange system is a different platform. The hole pattern and heel assembly are unchanged.

The Freetour is an aftermarket upgrade kit that adds touring capabilities to the Look Pivot 15 or 18 bindings. These bindings provide a release value range of either 6-15 or 8-18. It DOES NOT work with the Look Pivot 12 or 14.  Installing the kit requires swapping out the lower portion of the alpine toe pieces.

Learn how to do that here.

Yes. All you need is a #3 Posidrive screwdriver or large flathead screwdriver. Learn that process here.

If you would like to mount the system yourself, please follow this link to our Freetour Mounting Tutorial. The Freetour uses the same hole pattern as the Look Pivot bindings and is a straightforward process if you are experienced mounting skis. There are two added holes shown on our Heel Hole Template provided with every Freetour.

Warning: All bindings must be properly adjusted to the users boot sole length, height, weight, and release preference. The ski/boot/binding system must then be tested with the user's boots in accordance with industry standards before use, to ensure proper function.

Warning: If you are not a properly trained ski technician with the proper tools and a jig, you must have your bindings mounted by an authorized Look® or Cast® dealer.

The Freetour is sold with an Alpine/GripWalk compatible AFD installed and also comes with an interchangeable Touring ISO 9523 AFD to accommodate rockered touring boot soles.

The Freetour Upgrade Kit uses the same hole pattern as the Look Pivot binding.  If your skis are already mounted with a Look Pivot binding, this is not an issue.  Simply upgrade your Look Pivot 15 or 18 binding with the Freetour Upgrade Kit and then use the existing holes. Two additional holes will need to be drilled for the brake retainer.  The Heel Hole Template is provided with every purchase of a Freetour and can be downloaded here, Heel Hole Template.

Warning: All bindings must be properly adjusted to the users boot sole length, height, weight, and release preference. The ski/boot/binding system must then be tested with the user's boots in accordance with industry standards before use, to ensure proper function.

Yes, they are the same as the Look Pivot 15 and 18. (Although you may think about getting fresh Pivots at this point.) The Rossignol® FKS™ 12 and 14 DO NOT work.

No. However, if you already have a pair of Freetour Pivot 15s or 18s you can use the 12 or 14 heels with our Second Ski Kit.

The Tech toe is not designed for the use in downhill skiing. It can be used for small descents with skins on or off but you will be in free heel mode.
