From the FWT Starting Gate to the Skin Track: CAST Athletes on The Tour in 2026

At CAST, the Freeride World Tour (FWT) isn't just a competition we watch, it’s in our DNA. Founders Lars and Silas Chickering-Ayers started this company while competing on the FWT themselves, driven by a need for a system that offered zero-compromise alpine performance for the world’s most demanding lines.

In 2026, that legacy is being carried forward by our Pro Team. While these athletes rely on dedicated alpine setups for their 45-second competition runs, they trust the CAST Freetour for everything that happens when the bibs come off: scouting remote faces, filming high-stakes segments, and deep-country missions.

The 2026 Standouts

  • Toby Rafford: It was a career-defining year for Toby. After a dominant win in Haines, Alaska, and a massive podium in Verbier, he secured 2nd place in the Overall World Standings. When he’s not in the starting gate, Toby relies on the Freetour to access the technical spines and big lines that have made him a household name.

  • Weitien Ho: Weitien kicked off the season with a Bronze in Baqueira Beret. Known for his precision and power, Weitien uses the CAST system for his backcountry training, ensuring that his transitions to downhill mode are as solid as his competition runs.

  • Marcus Goguen: Following his 2025 World Title, Marcus continues to set the bar for progression. Whether he's gapping terrain features in the BC backcountry or scouting FWT faces, Marcus trusts the Freetour to provide the reliability of an alpine binding in the remote terrain where failure isn't an option.

Forged on the Face

Lars and Silas built CAST because they were tired of choosing between flimsy tech bindings and heavy frame setups while chasing FWT points. Today, seeing the world's best athletes use our system to push the limits of freeride touring is the ultimate validation.

Whether you're scouting your next line or just escaping the resort crowds, the CAST FREETOUR 2.0 is built to handle the ascent—and absolutely crush the descent.

Congratulations to the team on a legendary 2026 season!
